Ezekiel 21: Sighing With a Broken Heart

God told Ezekiel to set his face toward Jerusalem and prophesy against the land. Judgment was coming, pictured as a sword drawn from its sheath. God told Ezekiel to sigh before the people with a broken heart, and when they asked why, to say it was because of the news that was coming. Ezekiel also showed how the king of Babylon would stand at a fork in the road and choose to go to Jerusalem. God told the prince of Israel that his crown would be removed: the low would be exalted and the high brought low. God said, I will overturn, overturn, overturn it. This also will be no more, until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it. A word of judgment against the Ammonites closes the chapter.
