2 Kings 17: Israel Is Carried Away

Hoshea, the last king of Israel, rebels against Assyria. Shalmaneser besieges Samaria for three years, captures it, and carries Israel away to Assyria. The writer explains why: Israel worshiped other gods, though the Lord warned them again and again by His prophets. Assyria brings in other peoples, who fear the Lord but also serve their own gods.
