Psalms 132 · Grade 3
Two Promises
Read the Story
Psalm 132 is titled A Song of Ascents. It begins, Yahweh, remember David. David vowed that he would not sleep until he found a place for Yahweh.
The people said, We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool. They prayed, Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place, you, and the ark of your strength.
Then the psalm tells God's promise. Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He would set David's son on his throne. For Yahweh has chosen Zion. This is my resting place forever. He promised to bless it and to make a lamp for his anointed.
Memory Verse
“For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.”
