Jonah 4 · Grade 2

God Cares for Everyone

Name Date

Read the Story

God was kind to Nineveh. But Jonah was angry. He said he knew God is gracious and slow to anger.

Jonah went out of the city and sat down. God made a vine grow over him. It gave Jonah shade. Jonah was glad. But the next day a worm chewed the vine, and it dried up. The hot sun beat on Jonah. God said Jonah cared about the vine. God cared about the people of Nineveh and the animals too.

Memory Verse

He prayed to Yahweh, and said, “Please, Yahweh, wasn’t this what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore I hurried to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and you relent of doing harm.
