Job 1: Job Worships God in Loss

Job lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless and upright, feared God, and turned away from evil. He had seven sons, three daughters, and great flocks and herds. Satan said Job feared God only because God blessed him, and God allowed Satan to test Job but not to touch Job himself. In one day Job lost his animals, his servants, and his children. Job tore his robe, fell to the ground, and worshiped. He said, Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh's name. In all this, Job did not sin.
