Jeremiah 38: Rescued from the Pit

In Jeremiah 38 some princes are angry with Jeremiah's message, and they lower him into a muddy pit with no water. Jeremiah sinks in the mud. Ebedmelech, an Ethiopian servant of the king, bravely asks the king to help. The king sends him with thirty men, and they pull Jeremiah out with ropes and soft rags. Later Zedekiah secretly asks Jeremiah again, and Jeremiah urges him to obey God.
