Isaiah 20 · Grade 3
A Sign and a Wonder
Read the Story
The army of Assyria came to the city of Ashdod and took it. At that time God spoke to Isaiah. He told him to take off his sackcloth and his sandals.
Isaiah did so. He walked barefoot for three years. God called it "a sign and a wonder concerning Egypt and concerning Ethiopia."
God said the king of Assyria would lead away people from Egypt and Ethiopia. People who trusted Egypt would be upset. They would ask, "how will we escape?" Only God can truly save.
Memory Verse
“They will be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.”
Isaiah 20:5 (WEB)
