Ruth 4 · Grade 2
God Gives a Family
Read the Story
Boaz went to the city gate. He sat with ten leaders. The closer relative came by. Boaz asked him if he would buy Elimelech's land and take care of Ruth.
The man said he could not. He took off his sandal and gave it to Boaz. That meant Boaz should do it. Boaz said he would buy the land, and Ruth would be his wife. Everyone said they were witnesses.
Boaz and Ruth got married. God gave them a son. The women praised God with Naomi. Naomi held the baby close. They named him Obed. Obed became the grandfather of King David.
Memory Verse
“The women said to Naomi, “Blessed be Yahweh, who has not left you today without a near kinsman. Let his name be famous in Israel.”
