Romans 8 · Grade 3

If God Is for Us

Name Date

Read the Story

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Jesus has made us free.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God." We can call God Father. Paul says hard times now are small next to the glory God will show us.

The Spirit helps us when we are weak. When we do not know how to pray, the Spirit prays for us. "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."

"What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" God gave his own Son for us. Nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Memory Verse

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8 · Grade 4

No Condemnation

Name Date

Read and Think

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death." The mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God." We did not receive a spirit of fear, but the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" If we are children, then we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us." All creation waits eagerly. "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought." "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."

"What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" God did not spare his own Son. Paul asks who can separate us from the love of Christ. Hard times and danger cannot. "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  1. What made Paul free from the law of sin and of death?

  2. What Spirit did we receive instead of a spirit of fear?

Romans 8 · Grade 5

The Love of God in Christ Jesus

Name Date

Read and Think

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." What the law could not do, God did, sending his own Son. The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. "But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you."

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God." We did not receive a spirit of bondage again to fear. "You received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry" to God as Father. The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us." Creation waits for the revealing of the children of God and will be delivered from the bondage of decay. We ourselves groan, waiting for our adoption, for we were saved in hope. "But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered." "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."

"If God is for us, who can be against us?" He who did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, will also freely give us all things. Paul asks, shall oppression, anguish, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword separate us from the love of Christ? "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Paul is persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor things present, nor things to come, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
