Confess and Believe

Name Date

Read and Think

"Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved." Paul says his people have a zeal for God. "For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes."

The word of faith is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. Paul says if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. "For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."

"For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him." "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."

How will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe without hearing, or hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Paul quotes Isaiah about the beautiful feet of those who bring good news of peace. "So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

How Beautiful Are the Feet

Name Date

Read and Think

"Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved." Paul testifies that his people have a zeal for God. "For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Moses wrote about the righteousness of the law, but the righteousness of faith says the word is near you.

The word is in your mouth and in your heart; that is, the word of faith which Paul preaches. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. "For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." The Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed."

"For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him." "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?

"And how will they preach unless they are sent?" As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" Not all listened to the good news, as Isaiah also says. "So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Paul says the message has gone out into all the earth.

Show What You Know

  1. What does the righteousness of faith say about the word?

  2. What does the Scripture say about whoever believes in him?

  3. Who is the same Lord rich to?

  4. How will they preach?
