Romans 1 · Grade 4
The Righteous Shall Live by Faith
Read and Think
"Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God." God promised this Good News through his prophets. It is about his Son, who was declared to be the Son of God by the resurrection from the dead.
Paul writes to all in Rome, loved by God and called to be saints. He thanks God because their faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world. He longs to see them, so that he and they may be encouraged by each other's faith.
Paul is not ashamed of the Good News. It is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes. In it God's righteousness is revealed. As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith."
God's everlasting power and divinity are clearly seen through the things he made, so people are without excuse. Yet many knew God but did not glorify him or give thanks. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and served created things rather than the Creator. Turning from God led them into many wrong things.
