First Love

Read the Story

Jesus speaks to the assembly in Ephesus. I know your works, and your toil and perseverance. You have endured for my name’s sake. But I have this against you, that you left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works.

To Smyrna he says, I know your works, oppression, and your poverty, but you are rich. Don’t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Pergamum holds firmly to his name, but some there follow wrong teaching. Thyatira’s love, faith, service, and patient endurance are growing. Yet it allows a false prophetess to teach. Jesus says, Hold that which you have firmly until I come. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.
