Revelation 16 · Grade 4

True and Righteous Judgments

Name Date

Read and Think

A loud voice from the temple sends out the seven angels. One after another they pour out their bowls on the earth. The bowls bring sores, the sea and rivers turning to blood, burning heat, and darkness over the beast’s kingdom. Like the trumpets, the bowls echo the plagues on Egypt. But the trumpets touched a third; the bowls are complete.

In the middle of the plagues, voices praise God’s justice. The angel of the waters says, You are righteous, who are and who were, O Holy One, because you have judged these things. The altar answers, Yes, Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments. Sadly, people curse God instead of repenting.

The sixth bowl dries up the river Euphrates. Evil spirits gather the kings of the world for battle at a place called Harmagedon. In the middle of this, Jesus speaks: Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who watches. The seventh bowl is poured into the air, and a voice from the throne says, It is done! A great earthquake shakes the earth, and Babylon the great is remembered before God.
