Like Rain on the Grass
Read the Story
The title says The title of Psalm 72 says it is by Solomon. It is a prayer for the king. God, give the king your justice. He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.
The king will be like rain on the mown grass. In his days the righteous shall flourish. Kings of faraway lands will bring gifts. The king will deliver the needy when he cries, and the poor who has no helper.
His name will endure forever. Then comes praise: Blessed be his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory! The last verse says the prayers by David, the son of Jesse, end here.
