Psalms 6 · Grade 3
How Long?
Read the Story
The title says this psalm is for the Chief Musician, on stringed instruments, upon the eight-stringed lyre. It says it is a Psalm by David. David asks Yahweh not to rebuke him in anger. He says, Have mercy on me. He is faint, and his bones are troubled. He asks, How long?
David asks Yahweh to return and save him for his loving kindness' sake. David is weary with his groaning. Every night he floods his bed with tears. His eye wastes away because of grief.
Then David's words change. He tells the workers of iniquity to depart from him. Yahweh has heard the voice of his weeping. Yahweh has heard his supplication and accepts his prayer. David says his enemies shall turn back.
Memory Verse
