Psalms 49: Riches Cannot Save

The title says this is For the Chief Musician, A Psalm by the sons of Korah. The writer calls everyone, rich and poor, to listen to wisdom. People who trust in their wealth cannot pay God a ransom for anyone's life, because no payment is ever enough. Wise and foolish alike die and leave their wealth to others. But the writer says, God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. So don't be afraid when someone becomes rich, for when he dies he will carry nothing away.
