Psalms 124 · Grade 3

Escaped Like a Bird

Name Date

Read the Story

Psalm 124 is titled A Song of Ascents. By David. It asks Israel to imagine: If it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, what would have happened?

Enemies would have swallowed them up. A flood of water would have gone over their soul. But Yahweh did not let that happen. Blessed be Yahweh!

Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare. A fowler is a bird hunter. The snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in Yahweh's name, who made heaven and earth.

Memory Verse

“Our help is in Yahweh’s name, who made heaven and earth.”
