Nahum 2 · Grade 3
The Lions' Den
Read the Story
Nahum describes an attacker coming against Nineveh. The people are told to guard the fortress and watch the way. But the city would not stand.
In the middle of this, God gives a promise. Yahweh restores the excellency of Jacob. His people had been hurt, but God would make them great again.
Nineveh had been like a den of lions. Lions brought prey to their cubs, and no one made them afraid. Nineveh had taken from many nations. Now Yahweh of Armies says, behold, I am against you. The voice of its messengers would be heard no more.
