Leviticus 12 · Grade 2
Mary and Joseph Obey
Read the Story
God gave rules for a mom after a new baby was born. She rested and waited for some days.
On the eighth day, a baby boy was given God's special sign. Later the mom brought a lamb and a bird to God. If she was poor, she could bring two doves.
When Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph obeyed this rule. They brought two birds to God. That means they were poor. God's own Son came to a poor family.
Memory Verse
“If she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons: the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering. The priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.’””
