  1. Why was the leaders' question a trap? If He let her go, they could say He ignored the law; if He said to stone her, He would seem harsh.
  2. Who is the only one who could have condemned the woman? Jesus, the only sinless one
  3. What does Jesus say everyone who sins is? A slave to sin
  4. Why did the leaders try to stone Jesus when He said I AM? He used God's own name for Himself.

  1. What shows that the leaders did not truly care about righteousness? They brought the woman only to trap Jesus.

  3. What did Jesus promise to those who follow Him? They will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life (8:12).
  4. Why did the leaders' descent from Abraham not make them free? Sin makes everyone a slave; only the Son can truly set people free.
