Isaiah 58 · Grade 3
A Watered Garden
Read the Story
God told Isaiah, "Lift up your voice like a trumpet!" The people fasted, but they were also unkind to their workers and quarreled.
God asked if real fasting was this: "to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house?" God wanted kindness, not just skipping meals.
God promised, "Then your light will break out as the morning." "Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer." "You will be like a watered garden."
Memory Verse
““Cry aloud! Don’t spare! Lift up your voice like a trumpet! Declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Jacob their sins.”
