Isaiah 44 · Grade 3

A Lie in My Right Hand

Name Date

Read the Story

God said, "Don't be afraid, Jacob my servant." "I will pour my Spirit on your descendants." God said, "I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God."

A man cut down a tree. He burned half of it to bake bread and get warm. With the rest he made an idol. He prayed to it, "Deliver me, for you are my god!" But a piece of wood cannot save anyone.

God said, "I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions." He said, "Return to me, for I have redeemed you." God, who "makes all things," would have Jerusalem built again.

Memory Verse

“I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”

Take It Home

For families: talk about these together.

  • God's people would write on their hands that they belong to God. How can you show you belong to God?
  • The idol maker got tired and hungry while working. How can you trust God who never gets tired?
