Isaiah 42 · Grade 3
Light for the Nations
Read the Story
God said, "Behold, my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights: I have put my Spirit on him." In the New Testament, Matthew says this servant is Jesus (Matthew 12:18-21).
"He will not shout, nor raise his voice." "He won't break a bruised reed. He won't quench a dimly burning wick." He is very gentle with people who are weak.
God said He would make him "a light for the nations, to open the blind eyes." God said, "Sing to Yahweh a new song." God promised, "I will make darkness light before them."
Memory Verse
“He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice.”
