Isaiah 38 · Grade 3
The Shadow Goes Back
Read the Story
King Hezekiah was sick and near death. "Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to Yahweh." Then he cried very hard.
God sent Isaiah back. God said, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life." As a sign, the shadow on the sundial went back ten steps.
Hezekiah got well and wrote a song. He said God had "cast all my sins behind your back." He sang, "The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do today." Fathers would tell their children about God's truth.
Memory Verse
“The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do today. The father shall make known your truth to the children.”
