Isaiah 25 · Grade 4

A Feast for All Peoples

Name Date

Read and Think

Isaiah 25 is a song of praise. "Yahweh, you are my God. I will exalt you! I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, in complete faithfulness and truth." God had been "a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress."

Then Isaiah describes a great celebration. "In this mountain, Yahweh of Armies will make all peoples a feast of choice meat." God will remove "the veil that is spread over all nations," the covering of sorrow and death.

"He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord Yahweh will wipe away tears from off all faces." In the New Testament, Paul quotes this promise about the resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:54), and Revelation 21:4 says God will wipe away every tear. On that day, people will say, "We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!"
