Isaiah 14 · Grade 3

How the Oppressor Has Ceased

Name Date

Read the Story

God promised to have compassion on His people. He would give them rest from their sorrow and hard service. Then they would sing about the king of Babylon.

The king had been proud. He said in his heart, "I will ascend into heaven!" He wanted to make himself like the Most High. But God brought him down.

When the oppressor was gone, "The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet." God said, "as I have purposed, so shall it stand." No one can turn back God's hand.
