Isaiah 13 · Grade 3

The Glory of Kingdoms

Name Date

Read the Story

Isaiah saw a message about Babylon. Babylon was called the glory of kingdoms. It was rich and proud.

God said, "I will punish the world for their evil." He said He would cause the arrogance of the proud to cease. Proud people would be humbled.

God said He would stir up the Medes against Babylon. Silver and gold could not buy them off. Babylon would become empty. God rules over every nation.

Memory Verse

“I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the arrogance of the terrible.”

For families: talk about these together.

  • God's message about Babylon was hard to hear. Who could you pray for in a country that is facing trouble?
  • How can you spot bragging in your own heart?
