Hebrews 10 · Grade 4
One Offering Forever
Read and Think
Hebrews 10 begins by calling the law a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things. The same sacrifices were offered year after year. In those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins, for it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
The writer quotes Psalm 40, Behold, I have come to do your will. Every priest stands day by day offering the same sacrifices. But Christ offered one sacrifice for sins forever and sat down at the right hand of God. By one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
Because of this, believers have boldness to enter the holy place by a new and living way. They should draw near with a true heart, hold fast the confession of their hope, and consider how to provoke one another to love and good works. They should not forsake meeting together, but encourage one another.
