Ezekiel 19 · Grade 3
The Lioness and the Vine
Read the Story
God told Ezekiel to take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel. A lamentation is a sad song.
In the song, the mother was a lioness who raised her cubs. One cub was taken with hooks to Egypt. Another was caught in a net and brought to Babylon.
The mother was also like a vine planted by the waters. It was fruitful and full of branches. But now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.
Memory Verse
““‘Your mother was like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters. It was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.”
