Ezekiel 15: The Useless Vine

God asked Ezekiel a question about the vine tree. What is the vine more than any tree of the forest? Its wood cannot be used to make anything, not even a pin to hang a vessel on. When it is whole it is suitable for no work, and when the fire has burned both its ends, it is even less useful. God said the people of Jerusalem were like that vine wood. Israel had been planted to bear fruit for God, but they had not, so judgment would come and the land would be desolate, because they had acted unfaithfully.

Read the verse aloud. Say: God told Ezekiel that a vine is not good for making things. A vine is only good for growing fruit. God wanted His people to grow good things like love and kindness. Let's ask God to help us grow good fruit.
