Ezekiel 13: Prophets Who Said Peace

God told Ezekiel to prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesied out of their own heart and had seen nothing. They were like foxes in the waste places. They had not gone up into the gaps or built up the wall for the house of Israel. They claimed to speak for Yahweh, but Yahweh had not sent them. They told the people there was peace when there was no peace, like people covering a weak wall with whitewash. God said a storm would come and the wall would fall, and everyone would see that the plaster could not hold it. God also spoke against women who practiced magic and lied to his people for handfuls of barley and pieces of bread. God promised to deliver his people out of their hands, because their lies had grieved the righteous and encouraged the wicked not to turn from their way.
