Exodus 30 · Grade 2
Prayers Like Sweet Smoke
Read the Story
God told Moses to make a small gold altar. Aaron would burn sweet incense on it every morning and every evening. The smoke smelled good and went up to God. The Bible says our prayers are like incense to God.
Each person who was counted gave the same small gift of money. Rich people did not give more. Poor people did not give less. Everyone mattered the same to God.
God told Moses to make a big bowl for water. The priests washed their hands and feet in it before they served God. God also gave a recipe for holy oil and holy incense, just for worship.
Memory Verse
“Aaron shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.”
