Exodus 2: Baby Moses

A Levite woman had a son and hid him for three months. Then she placed him in a basket among the reeds of the Nile, while his sister watched. Pharaoh's daughter found him, had compassion, and his sister arranged for his own mother to nurse him. He grew up as the princess's son, named Moses. As a man, Moses killed an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew and fled to Midian, where he married Zipporah. Israel groaned in slavery, and God heard them and remembered His covenant.
