Deuteronomy 24: Care for the Poor and Needy

Moses gives laws to protect people in hard places. A new husband stays home a year to cheer his wife. Lenders must not take a millstone or enter a poor man's house for a pledge. Workers must be paid the same day. Each person is responsible for his own sin. Harvesters must leave forgotten sheaves, olives, and grapes for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow.
