Deuteronomy 24 · Grade 2
Kind to People in Need
Read the Story
God said, Pay a worker on the same day. He is poor and needs his money. Do not make him wait.
If a poor man gives you his coat as a promise to pay you back, give it back at night. He needs it to sleep in. God will see your kindness.
When you pick your grain, you may forget a bundle. Leave it there. When you pick olives and grapes, do not go back twice. Leave some for the widow, the child with no father, and the person far from home.
Memory Verse
“You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates.”
