Acts 9 · Grade 3
From Enemy to Friend
Read the Story
Saul wanted to put the followers of Jesus in prison. He got letters from the high priest and went to Damascus.
Near Damascus a light from the sky shone around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice ask why he was persecuting him. Saul asked who he was. The voice said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting." Saul got up but could not see. He did not eat or drink for three days.
The Lord told a disciple named Ananias to go to Saul. Ananias was afraid, but the Lord said Saul was his chosen one to carry his name to the nations (Acts 9:15). Ananias laid hands on Saul. Something like scales fell from his eyes, and he could see. He was baptized.
Saul at once preached that Jesus is the Son of God. Barnabas brought him to the apostles. Later Peter healed a man named Aeneas, and at Joppa he prayed and God raised a kind woman named Tabitha to life.
