One Way to Be Saved

Name Date

Read the Story

Some men came from Judea. They taught that Gentile believers had to keep the laws of Moses to be saved. Paul and Barnabas argued with them, and the church sent them to the apostles and elders in Jerusalem.

On the way, they told how the Gentiles had turned to God, and the believers were very glad. In Jerusalem the leaders met to talk about it.

Peter said God knows the heart. God gave the Holy Spirit to the Gentiles, just as he did to us. He made no difference between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith (Acts 15:9). We are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are.

James said the prophets spoke of the nations seeking the Lord. So they should not trouble the Gentiles who turn to God. They sent a letter with Judas and Silas. The believers rejoiced. Later Paul and Barnabas disagreed about taking Mark, so Barnabas took Mark and Paul took Silas.
