Acts 11 · Grade 3
The Church at Antioch
Read the Story
Some believers in Jerusalem asked Peter why he ate with Gentiles. Peter told them the whole story, from the vision to the Holy Spirit falling on Cornelius's house. When they heard it, they praised God. They said God had given the Gentiles repentance to life.
Believers who had been scattered went as far as Antioch. Some spoke to Greeks too, telling the good news of the Lord Jesus (Acts 11:20). The hand of the Lord was with them, and many believed.
The church in Jerusalem sent Barnabas. He saw the grace of God and was glad. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith. He went to Tarsus to find Saul. For a whole year they taught many people.
The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. A prophet named Agabus said a great famine would come. Each believer gave what he could to help the brothers in Judea.
Memory Verse
