2 Peter 3: The Lord Is Patient

2 Peter 3 reminds believers of the words of the prophets and of Jesus through the apostles. Scoffers will mock the promise of the Lord’s coming, forgetting that God made the world by his word and once judged it with water. With the Lord one day is as a thousand years. He is not slow about his promise but patient, not wishing that any should perish. The day of the Lord will come like a thief, and believers look for new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells. They should live holy lives, beware of error and grow in grace.
