Relying on Yahweh

Name Date

Read the Story

Abijah began to reign over Judah. Jeroboam came against him with an army twice as big. Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim and spoke to Israel.

He said Yahweh gave the kingdom to David and his sons forever. Israel had golden calves and false priests. But Judah kept Yahweh's priests. They lit the gold lamp every evening. He said God was with them.

Jeroboam's men came behind Judah. Judah needed help. Judah cried to Yahweh, and the priests sounded the trumpets. Judah shouted, and God gave them the victory, because they relied on Yahweh.

Memory Verse

“Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on Yahweh, the God of their fathers.”
