1 Timothy 1 · Grade 3
Paul Received Mercy
Read the Story
The letter opens with the name Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ. He wrote to Timothy, his true child in the faith. Paul asked Timothy to stay in the city of Ephesus. Some people there were teaching wrong things.
Paul said the goal is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and true faith. Paul thanked Jesus for making him strong and trusting him. Before, Paul had spoken against Jesus and hurt believers. But God showed him mercy.
Paul said Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Paul said he was the worst sinner. Jesus showed great patience to him. Now Paul is an example of God's mercy. Paul praised God, the King forever.
Memory Verse
“The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.”
