1 Samuel 25 · Grade 2
A Wise Woman
Read the Story
Samuel died. All Israel was sad. A rich man named Nabal had many sheep. David's men had kept Nabal's shepherds safe. David asked Nabal for some food.
Nabal was rude. He said no. David was very angry. He wanted to get back at Nabal. He set out with four hundred men.
Nabal's wife Abigail was wise. She brought bread and other food on donkeys. She bowed to David and asked him not to get back at Nabal. David thanked God for sending her. Later Nabal died, and Abigail became David's wife.
Memory Verse
“David said to Abigail, “Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who sent you today to meet me!”
