If We Confess

Name Date

Read the Story

The letter begins with what was from the beginning. The writer says, we have heard it, we have seen it with our eyes, and our hands touched it. It is the Word of life. We write these things to you, that our joy may be fulfilled.

This is the message: God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him but walk in darkness, we lie. If we walk in the light, we have fellowship with one another.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Memory Verse

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
