Know the God of Your Father

Name Date

Read the Story

David gathered all the leaders of Israel. He said it was in his heart to build a house for the ark. But God chose Solomon to build it. God would be his father, and Solomon would be his son.

David told Solomon to know God and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. Yahweh searches all hearts. If you seek him, he will be found by you. David warned that if Solomon left God, God would cast him off.

David gave Solomon the plans for the temple. He said the Spirit had given them, and Yahweh's hand had made him understand. David told Solomon to be strong and courageous. Yahweh God would not fail him or forsake him until the work was finished.

Memory Verse

David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do it. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed, for Yahweh God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of Yahweh’s house is finished.
