1 Chronicles 26 · Grade 3
Every Gate Guarded
Read the Story
The doorkeepers came from the families of Korah and Merari. Many of them were mighty men of valor. They kept the gates of Yahweh's house.
God blessed Obed-Edom. He had eight sons, and his family grew to sixty-two able men. They cast lots for every gate, the small as well as the great. Obed-Edom's family got the south gate and the storehouse.
Ahijah was over the treasures of God's house. Some treasure was given to repair Yahweh's house. Other Levites were officers and judges over Israel. They served in matters of God and of the king.
Memory Verse
“They cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate.”
