1 Chronicles 23 · Grade 3
Every Morning and Evening
Read the Story
David was old and full of days. He made Solomon his son king over Israel. He gathered the princes, the priests, and the Levites.
David counted the Levites thirty years old and up. There were many thousands. He divided them into groups by Levi's sons: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Aaron and his sons were set apart as priests forever.
David said Yahweh had given rest to his people. The Levites no longer needed to carry the tent. Now they would help the priests in God's house. They cared for the bread and the holy things. They stood every morning and evening to thank and praise Yahweh.
