1 Chronicles 20 · Grade 4
Giants Fall
Read and Think
At the time when kings go out to battle, Joab led the army against the children of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. David stayed at Jerusalem. Joab struck Rabbah and overthrew it. David took the crown of their king, which weighed a talent of gold with precious stones.
Then war arose with the Philistines at Gezer and at Gath. Sibbecai defeated Sippai, of the sons of the giant. Elhanan defeated Lahmi the brother of Goliath, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.
At Gath there was a man of great stature with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, defeated him. These were born to the giant in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and his servants (20:8).

Think About It
Long ago, David faced Goliath alone. Now his servants faced giants too. How can you follow the good example of a faithful leader?
The giant defied Israel and fell. How does God help His people stand against those who mock Him?
