1 Chronicles 11 · Grade 3
David's City
Read the Story
All Israel came to David at Hebron. They said, in effect, that they were his own family. They anointed David king, just as Yahweh had said by Samuel.
David took the stronghold of Zion. It was called David's city. David grew greater and greater, for Yahweh of Armies was with him.
David had mighty men who were brave. Once David longed for water from the well of Bethlehem. Three men broke through the enemy and got it. But David would not drink it. He poured it out to Yahweh.
Memory Verse
“So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh. They anointed David king over Israel, according to Yahweh’s word by Samuel.”
