Zechariah 7 · Grade 3
True Judgment
Read the Story
Zechariah 7:1 says Yahweh's word came to Zechariah in the fourth year of King Darius. People from Bethel came to the priests. They asked if they should keep weeping in the fifth month.
God asked whether they had really fasted for him. God wanted more than fasting. Yahweh of Armies said, execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.
God told them not to oppress the widow, the fatherless, the foreigner, or the poor, and not to plan evil against each other. But their fathers refused to listen. They turned their backs. They made their hearts as hard as flint.
Memory Verse
