Song of Solomon 8 · Grade 3
Many Waters
Read the Story
The bride said, Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; for love is strong as death.
Many waters can't quench love, neither can floods drown it. Water puts out fire, but it cannot put out true love.
If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned. Love cannot be bought. In the New Testament, marriage is a picture of Christ's love for His church. Many Christians read the Song this way too. This is an interpretation, not something the Song says directly.
Memory Verse
“Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.”
